From Starving Artist to Thriving Artist with Laura Baring-Gould

About the event
Many cultures have recognized and supported the central role that artists play as creators and cultural community agents. How do we do this in a society where the paradigm for being an artist is to live on the margins - both starving the artist, but also the community? In this workshop we will focus on essential frameworks that each of us, as artists and teaching artists, can use to support and sustain our work. Drawing on key frameworks of creative and entreprenural success, the workshop will look at ways to optimize the growth and sustainability of our practices, help artists to set and know price points for their practices, and explore the ways we can cross pollinate efforts to dynamically manage the business of being both a working and teaching artist.
